The peeps involved with Disney's and Jason Segel's live-action Muppets feature headed over the Pixar yesterday for a table read of the project!
Pixar has also recently helped parent company Disney with the upcoming Tron Legacy. An insider reveals:
"There are a lot of Muppet fans up there at Pixar. Both sides were excited and curious. I wouldn't read too much into it. Pixar is acting more as a friend of the court."
The Muppets film still hasn't been officially greenlit, but we think this is a step in the right direction!
Disney lovers, get excited! There are a lot of new movies coming your way that seem right up your alley.
The head of the Disney film department, Rich Ross, announced the division's plans to move forward with some much anticipted projects.
For Pixar fans, two movies have been given release dates. Brave, a "tale of archery and royalty" features the voices of Reese Witherspoon and Billy Connolly and will be released June 15, 2012. Meanwhile, a sequel to Monsters, Inc. is scheduled for the 2012 holiday season, around November 16.
Richy also announced that he has officially greenlighted three live action movies, appealing more to kids, kids at heart, and people who want to have kids with Johnny Depp: Pirates of the Caribbean 4, The Muppets in 2011 and Prom, a tween-targeted flick, in 2012.
Ah, which Disney Channel starlet will have the pleasure of staring in the latter: Selena? Demi maybe?
It already sounded AMAZEBALLS, and this only makes it better!!
Jason Segel has been hard at work penning the reboot of the Muppet films, The Greatest Muppet Movie Ever Made, and if these SPOILERS are true, then he is on the right track!!
According to sources, Miss Piggy has a new fashion icon in the film, and it's our beloved GaGaloo!!!
Sources say:
"Miss Piggy ends up becoming like a Lady Gaga-esque character living in Europe. Kermit ends up being destitute and the main characters find him living in squalor."
YES!! YES!! BRILLIANT!!
Maybe there will be a scene where MISS PIGGY wears an entire outfit made out of Kermits!!
The rest of the plot apparently involves an evil oil baron trying to destroy the Muppets' theater and the classic characters rallying to save it with a telethon.
That sounds a little boring to us, but we're gonna give Segel the benefit of the doubt - he's usually HIGHlarious!!
What do U think?? Are U excited for a new Muppet movie???
