X Factor winner Joe McElderry is gay!

Despite denying rumors in the past, the 19-year-old singer made the decision to come out, saying, "I'm really happy, I now know who I am."

Joe had previously insisted he was straight when asked by the media, but up until he three weeks ago, he didn't really the know the answer himself!

“Every time I was asked, I gave honest answers. I wasn’t attracted to anyone anyway, male or female. It never really entered my head I was gay. I’ve had time to think about things. I wasn’t attracted to anyone anyway, male or female. It never really entered my head I was gay. But I just know. It’s how I feel. I’m so happy. It’s all been so recent to be honest. Over the past couple of weeks I’ve had time to think and come to realize who I am. I have grown up a lot. I know it sounds crazy but before then, I was so busy. It hadn’t even crossed my mind.

I only told my mum last week, on a train. She was fine, great even. She’d actually asked us in the past, not because she thought I was gay but because she’s a supportive mum. She’d say, ‘I don’t care if you have a girlfriend or boyfriend’. My family have been so supportive.”

Joe also reveals that he's only kissed one boy, saying that he thought, " 'Oh, that’s weird, maybe that’s what happens.' I didn’t know what it meant. It was nothing serious, just a one-off thing. I’m single, I’ve not had a ­relationship with a boy, but I just know. It’s how I feel."

He even says that X Factor judges Simon Cowell and Cheryl Tweedy were completely supportive of his decision. And as for his fans, he says, “I’m not worried about how fans will react. They have always said they’ll back me no matter what. Everyone’s been really kind so I would like to thank them and your readers for all the support."

Not right away, but the idea has been put out there!

The Vampire Diaries producer and creator Kevin Williamson has expressed fervent interest in getting a gay character on the show. He knows he wants to do it. He knows he is going to do it. He just has no idea when, where and more importantly, who it is going to be. While on the press circuit this week for the show, he explained:

"I'm sitting in the wings waiting. I'm waiting. Which character can be gay? Which character won't? Where will it fit in? How can I get the gay character in? I don't want to sound like I'm a militant about it, like THERE MUST BE A GAY CHARACTER, even though I am. It's not just that, it's also diversity. I always feel like I don't have enough diversity on my show, and that is one of the things I'm very conscientious of, and not just gay characters. Any diversity. In anything, I want everyone represented. I want everybody on the show."

However, as much as he wants to include a gay character in his vampy world, he also doesn't want the character to have a whole "coming out" arc. As he puts it, the story would be to reminiscent of what he did on Dawson's Creek:

"I don't want to do a coming-out story. I did it on Dawson's Creek. As much as I'd like to do [a gay story], I want it to be fresh, and I'd want to do it in a new way. I don't know what that way is. We've seen it. We've seen it on countless shows. I've done my coming-out story, and I was very proud of it, and I don't know what it would be."

You'll find a way to make it work, Kevin. You're a brilliant write; we have faith.

But now, let's see. Who could the resident gay turn out to be? Can't be the Elena or her vampire brother beaus. (Damn!) He could always bring in a whole new character to fill the void.

Singer Tracy Chapman has reportedly started dating L Word star Guinevere Turner.

According to the National Enquirer, the pair met earlier this year when introduced by a mutual friend. Their romance "sparked quickly" and they've gotten so serious, they even have plans to move in together! The source says "Tracy & Guin are in love and excited to start a new chapter in their lives"

However, the author announced yesterday via Facebook that she was over that shiz because she refuses to agree with some of the Church's doctrine!

She reveals:

"For those who care, and I understand if you don't: Today I quit being a Christian. I'm out. I remain committed to Christ as always but not to being "Christian" or to being part of Christianity. It's simply impossible for me to 'belong' to this quarrelsome, hostile, disputatious, and deservedly infamous group. For ten …years, I've tried. I've failed. I'm an outsider. My conscience will allow nothing else.

As I said below, I quit being a Christian. I'm out. In the name of Christ, I refuse to be anti-gay. I refuse to be anti-feminist. I refuse to be anti-artificial birth control. I refuse to be anti-Democrat. I refuse to be anti-secular humanism. I refuse to be anti-science. I refuse to be anti-life. In the name of …Christ, I quit Christianity and being Christian. Amen."

Wow! Pretty strong words!

We understand that trying to reconcile between personal beliefs and the restrictions imposed by organized religion is a difficult one, so good for you for refusing to compromise what you believe to be right!

And we have to ask - does this mean that we'll get more Lestat?!

Sources are reporting that Cheryl Cole has asked closeted BF Derek Hough to move in with her in her Surrey mansion. The arrangement would be temporary, as he is looking for his own place to live in London, but still, this has "bad idea" written all over it.

It also screams "trying too hard" on his part. Moving in with this girl to prove something, Derek, will prove nothing. It will only make us dislike you more when you break this poor girl's recovery heart when you FINALLY come out.

Back in May, Dane Cook came under fire when he reportedly threatened American Idol reject Ian Bernardo after the contestant stole the microphone from him at the live finale.

Bernado claims that Cook and his manager made some offensive comments about his sexual preference and threatened to shove the microphone up his ass, and now he's suing the reality show for $300 million!

According to legal documents, Bernado alleges that the producers were behind his flamboyant behavior, and instructed him to be outrageous and to "gay it up" during the live event! However, he now asserts that they hung him out to dry and did not support him after the incident with Cook.

WTF??

Sounds to us like someone had no problem having his sexuality exploited when it was giving him screen time, but now that things didn't turn out the way he wanted he's sour grapes!

So effing lame.

Lt. Dan Choi, the Iraq war veteran who bravely outed himself to fight Don't Ask, Don't Tell, has been officially discharged from the Army National Guard because of his 'violation' of the ridiculous policy.

He says in a statement:

"After 11 years since beginning my journey at West Point and after 17 months of serving openly as an infantry officer this is both an infuriating and painful announcement. My service continues. Remaining silent when our family and community members are fired or punished for who they truly are would be an unequivocal moral dereliction that tarnishes the honor of the uniform and insults the meaning of America. I don’t consider myself a victim. As sad as I am, I’m not a victim. My unit is a victim."

What a courageous man. It truly is our country's loss to lose him as member of the armed services.

We hope this doesn't deter him from his fight for equal rights! We are 100% behind you, bb!

Scandalous!

The book Hollywood Babylon Strikes Again alleges that late Superman actor Christopher Reeve had a two month affair with late gay porn star Cal Culver!

Culver reportedly gave an interview in 1987, before he passed away from an AIDS, and claims that he meet Reeve while they were both auditioning for a part on Broadway.

He explained:

"Christopher was a great lover and I think I liberated him sexually. I didn't think he was gay but he seemed willing to try anything once. He was curious."

The affair ended when Reeve discovered that Culver was in the porn business!

Crazy! Seeing that both men have passed on, we guess we'll never know if it's true or not!
