M. Knight Shyamalan has been receiving quite a bit of heat considering his latest releases have flopped, but that's okay because he's just like Michael Jordan!
"Look, I loved Michael Jordan, right? He was my favorite basketball player. When I used to watch him at Madison Square Garden there would be 25,000 people booing every time that he touched the ball, screaming abuse at him. And it was because the entire stadium was there to see him be spectacular. They were like, 'I don't want you to disappoint me or hurt me.'
"I'm no Michael Jordan but maybe I get a little of that… Reviews of my movies often spend a lot of the time talking about me, not the movie!"
Joseph Gordon-Levitt is riding high right now on the wave known as Inception. The epically successful movie has landed him on the cover of tons of magazines and on every talk show television can handle. This is all good news for him, as girls like to screw guys who are all over TV and the man is looking for some serious tail!
Even though a few weeks ago we heard Joseph was dating model Devon Aoki, sources tell Life and Style he's still on a pussy hunt. A source says, "He's been asking out a lot of girls in LA the past few weeks."
Eh, you are only young once! Might as well enjoy it while you can!
Just remember to be safe! Don't fall for any grenades!
Disneyannounced yesterday that they have sold Miramax Films to Filmyard Holdings LLC - and its partners Ron Tutor and Tom Barrack - for a whopping $660 million!
The deal should go through sometime between September and January of 2011.
Disney President and CEO Bob Iger says:
"Although we are very proud of Miramax's many accomplishments, our current strategy for Walt Disney Studios is to focus on the development of great motion pictures under the Disney, Pixar and Marvel brands. We are delighted that we have found a home for the Miramax brand and Miramax's very highly regarded motion picture library.”
And Ron Tutor elaborates:
“I am delighted and honored to acquire the Miramax library. On behalf of my partners Tom Barrack and Colony Capital, we look forward to sharing this high quality content with the world in every form of media for many years to come.”
Big switch up! We wonder what this will mean for Miramax and its current employees!
“I think the industry needs to wake up and stop doing remakes because I’m kind of falling asleep. They need to start doing movies about something other than comic books and stuff that come out in the Eighties. We’ve exploited that already.
"Let’s do something new. It’s sleepy time in Hollywood right now and we need to find something else.”
They shouldn't do any more Fast & Furious sequels either!
Director Guillermo del Toro's next film is rumored to be At The Mountain Of Madness, an adaptation of an HP Lovecraft story that takes place during an expedition to the South Pole in the 1930s where a "gruesome discovery" is made!
Sounds creepy!
And James Cameron is expected to produce the film!
If that's not a winning team, we don't know what is! We're looking forward to it!
Mark Ruffalo will be playingThe Hulk in the upcoming Avengers movie and he opened up about starring in one of the most highly anticipated comic book movies to date! Here are some HIGHlights:
On being introduced at Comic-Con:
"It was very exciting — and I realized I had some pretty big shoes to fill. Those were my heroes up there! I was a comic book fan growing up. I loved The Hulk and The Avengers — it’s just strange to be entering that world as an actor. I never would have imagined that before.
"I was very, very nervous. I didn’t know what to expect. That’s as close you’re going to get to being a rock star as an actor. The fans — they have very strong feelings toward their comic book heroes."
On Bruce Banner, The Hulk's human alter ego:
"He’s a guy struggling with two sides of himself — the dark and the light — and everything he does in his life is filtered through issues of control. I grew up on the Bill Bixby TV series, which I thought was a really nuanced and real human way to look at The Hulk. I like that the part has those qualities."
"I’m a friend of Ed’s, and yeah, that wasn’t a great way for all that to go down. But the way I see it is that Ed has bequeathed this part to me. I look at it as my generation’s Hamlet."
Paramount has acquired the rights to graphic novel Boilerplate: History's Mechanical Marvel to be produced by J.J. Abrams and his Bad Robot company!
Boilerplate tells the fictional tale of the world's first robot who fought alongside Teddy Roosevelt and Lawrence of Arabia and even journeyed to the South Pole.
Could be good, but sounds like a major "nerd alert" movie!
As far as we can tell, the chances of Mel Gibson recovering from his domestic violence scandal are slim-to-none. We know we're not the only ones who feel that way, but it's nice to have a little validation from an A-list movie star, like Leonardo DiCaprio.
Sources are reporting that Leo has pulled out from starring in Mel's upcoming viking flick. It is safe to say that with the impeccable reputation that he has garnered himself over the years and the wave of acclaim he is riding right now due to Inception, Leo doesn't want to risk his good name to be in a movie directed by a douchey, violent pig!
We sure as hell don't blame him!
So you've lost your reputation, credibility and any chance of making this movie. Is there anything left to take from Mel at this point? Because of there is, let's no dilly-dally. He doesn't deserve a speck of hope that he can be so profane and get away wih it.
Gee, wonder if Mel will be leaving Leo any messages now that he is left???
